Suggy S. Chrai, Ph.D., M.B.A., R.P.
Dr. Suggy Chrai is a senior executive with over
20 plus years of experience in the
pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.
Before starting his own consulting business
Chrai Associates, Inc., he was Vice President,
Technical Operations, Delsys Pharmaceutical
Corporation, Princeton, NJ, Vice President,
Development, The Liposome Company,
Princeton, NJ and Vice President, Technical
Affairs Department, Mova Pharmaceutical
Corporation, Caguas, Puerto Rico.
He grew through the ranks at Bristol-Myers
Squibb New Brunswick, NJ to Director
including positions of Director, Tablet
Manufacturing Operations NB, Director,
Worldwide Parenteral, Semi-Solid and Liquids
Technology, Director Pharmaceutical
Technology, North America and Director,
Worldwide Parenteral and Pharmacy Products
Technology. At Schering Plough, Bloomfield,
NJ, he started as Senior Scientist and soon
became Group Leader in Sterile Formulations
Group.
In addition to his industrial experience, his 20
years of teaching includes Adjunct
Professorship at Fairleigh Dickinson
University, Business School, Rutgers State
University, School of Pharmacy, Long Island
University, Arnold & Marie Schwartz School
of Pharmacy and University of Puerto Rico,
School of Pharmacy. He has conducted several
courses for various trade organizations.
His education includes M.S. and Ph.D. degrees
from University of Wisconsin, Madison,
Wisconsin and a B.S. degree in Industrial
Pharmacy from University of Jadavpur, India.
He also holds a M.B.A. degree in
Pharmaceutical Marketing from Fairleigh
Dickinson University, Teaneck, NJ. He has taken
masters level courses in Chemical Engineering
from Stevens Institute of Technology.
He is an Editorial Advisory Board Member of
several journals and magazines and was an
Advisory Panel Member of the United State
Pharmacopoeia, was Advisory Board Member of
Alliance for Minority Participation–Universities of
Puerto Rico and is a Board Member of Middlesex
County College Foundation. Suggy is a licensed
pharmacist with many years of experience in
hospital pharmacy.
His industrial recognition includes over 100
presentations, over 50 technical articles and 2
chapters in college books. He has moderated over
20 meetings/sessions. He has 17 patents issued and
several more pending. For his industrial
recognition, he has received Academy of
Pharmaceutical Research and Sciences “Fellow”
Award in 1980, Pharmaceutical Technology
Publisher’s Award in 1996, American Association
of Indian Pharmaceutical Scientists “Fellow”
Award in 1999, Sarnoff Research Center Team
Award in 1999 and American Association of
Indian Pharmaceutical Scientists “Outstanding
Scientist” Award in 2001. |
